WHO IS THE WORKSHOP FOR?
This two-day, seven-hour, fully interactive workshop is designed for both new and experienced football scouts and analysts who want to enhance their scouting skills and abilities for analysing opponents.
The workshop is also beneficial for football coaches seeking to develop their tactical knowledge and understanding of opposition scouting.
Learn the art of opposition football scouting from an experienced professional football scout who has worked at the highest levels of domestic and international football.
This workshop will demonstrate how professional football clubs at the highest level scout and analyse opponents, emphasizing the importance of opposition analysis.
Acquire the scouting techniques necessary for successfully evaluating opponents and assisting a team in achieving successful results.
Learn how to observe opponents in different phases of play to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and effectively relay this information to coaching staff.
Through fully interactive tasks, we will guide you in the process of scouting and analysing opponents, as well as compiling scout reports to the standards utilized in professional football at the highest level.
All attendees will receive a scouting pack, including software, to complete their own scouting reports following the workshop.
As the workshop is fully interactive with a small group of attendees, you will have the opportunity to interact with the presenter and fellow attendees, providing excellent networking opportunities with like-minded individuals and professionals working in football clubs at all levels.
Upon completion of the workshop, attendees will be presented with a A.F.C.A.S. workshop certificate CIMSPA-accredited.
WORKSHOP CONTENT: The workshop content includes:
- Learning how to prepare for scouting at a match.
- Gaining scouting hints and tips to assist you during a match.
- Explanation and teaching of opposition scouting theories.
- Learning to identify team tactics and patterns of play.
- Understanding a team’s style of play and their approach in possession and out of possession.
- Analysis of individual players.
- Study and assessment of set-pieces, including interactive tasks to test your understanding and observations.
- Examination of professional football reports and guidance on how to compile and present your own scout reports.
- Utilizing video footage, you will have the opportunity to apply your newfound skills by creating a scout report during the workshop.
- Homework tasks will be assigned to provide further opportunities for you to apply your newly acquired skills and receive feedback during the workshop.
- Participants will receive a scouting pack and software to complete their own scouting reports.
