Three Players Who Could Join Julian Draxler At Arsenal In January

It appears Arsenal have already given up on keeping Alexis Sanchez and as such have started making moves to replace the Chilean star. Yesterday news broke that the Gunners have been working behind the scenes to complete the signing of Paris Saint-Germain star Julian Draxler on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The German has been linked with a move to Arsenal for a while now, and to be honest, he is the sort of player Arsenal should be going after as Sanchez’s replacement. The former Wolfsburg and Schalke 04 star is not yet at Sanchez’s level but he has the potential to be as good, if not better than the South American. And at just 24, he still has age on his side.

We believe Arsenal will end up getting the German even though there are reports of interest from Liverpool in the player. But aside from Julian Draxler, who are Arsenal likely to sign this winter?

Leon Goretzka

The Schalke 04 and German international is a contract rebel. Leon Goretzka has less than eight months left on his contract with the Bundesliga side and has so far rejected the opportunity to sign another deal. He has also been linked with Bayern Munich but German national team manager Oliver Bierhoff has practically confirmed the player is off to the Premier League. We believe he could be joining Arsenal as Mesut Ozil’s replacement at the club.

Yusuf Yazici

20-year-old Yusuf Yazici is said to be a target of Arsenal’s too. The Trabzonspor and Turkey midfielder is reportedly seen as a player who has the potential to replace Ozil at the Emirates. The highly-rated midfielder has been one of Trabzonspor’s best players this season and is said to be available for £14 million. He scored six goals and created 10 assists in 22 appearances for Trabzonspor last season. Dr Erkut Sogut, who is also the agent of Mesut Ozil, is also the agent of Yazici, which could make it easier for Arsenal to sign him.

Nabil Fekir

Nabil Fekir is another player that has been linked with a move to Arsenal. Reports say that the Gunners will make a £60 million bid for the Frenchman. The Lyon attacking midfielder has been one of his club’s best players so far this season. Should he sign for Arsenal, he would likely be seen as a replacement for Mesut Ozil.

  1. The way Alexis & Mesut Ozil played against Tottenham in the North London derby it proves they do want to stay at the club to a certain extent, but we can’t be held to ransom, so it may prove out better in the long run to get shot of them & get in some fresh blood!!!!!

    • I am sure both will like to stay if 1. Wenger can somehow convince them he will bring in the right players in the summer. Players want to win titles you know? Unfortunately the current crop of players won’t win Arsenal anything tangible. 2. If Arsenal is ready to pay them what other clubs are paying. It is inexplicable that Arsenal’s highest paid players don’t even as much as 200,000 pounds a week when other clubs are beginning to pay over 400,000 pounds a week.
