Opinion – 30 Goals, 6 Assists £40m-Rated Attacker To Join Chelsea In January?

Chelsea could certainly do with the signing of another striker. The Blues only have Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi to call upon in attack. Unfortunately, Batshuayi is injured at the moment and is likely to be out for a while. And even when the Belgian was fit, he didn’t do much in the games he played to suggest he can be relied upon by Chelsea for goals.

Morata has done incredibly well since joining from Real Madrid in the summer. Unfortunately he can’t do the job alone. Chelsea need a backup; someone better than Batshuayi, and have been linked with the signing of a couple of strikers in the last few weeks. The two prominent names linked so far have been Ciro Immobile and Mauro Icardi.

Celtic’s Moussa Dembele was linked with a move to Chelsea last January but nothing came out of the rumours and he remains at the Scottish champions. But we think the Frenchman would be the ideal signing for Chelsea if they are looking for someone who is better than Batshuayi, and is readily available for the right price.

The 21-year-old scored 30 goals and recorded 6 assists in 45 appearances for Celtic last season. And he has done well so far this season, scoring six goals and recording three assists in 11 appearances. Celtic certainly won’t want to sell their best player so easily but should Chelsea make an offer of between £34-45 million for the player, and he is in favour of moving, I would be surprised if Celtic were able to hold onto him.

I firmly believe, and I do not claim to have any insider information, that Chelsea will have a good chance of signing him this January. He was linked with Arsenal last summer and the Gunners could yet move for him as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez if the Chilean is sold this January, hence why Chelsea need to move fast if they really do want to sign Moussa Dembele.

  1. Yes, I think that will be wise for Chelsea to sign on another striker to assist Morata in his role as an attacker since bashuayi fail to deliverv, same goes to man u, bringing in griezeman will be a perfect idea to help them compete for de ongoing tournament

  2. i would expect Chelsea will face real competition from other clubs too. paying up to 50 million will be still cheap in the current market as we saw toward the end of last window.
