Premier League Previews: Reading v Aston Villa

Reading FC

This Preview for Reading v Aston Villa includes my Premier League Predictions and pre-match analysis for Match Week 29 of the EPL.

Reading and Aston Villa have hit some difficult times recently. They are both at the bottom of the table with a single point separating them. In Saturday’s match they will be facing one another in another possible 6 pointer. A win for either team would see them move out of the relegation zone, at least temporarily, with Wigan playing in the FA Cup this weekend.

Reading have really fallen on hard times with 3 straight losses. They had shown some signs of brightness during the first half of their match with Everton, though this had more to do with being able to keep them from scoring and had as much to do with how Everton were playing.

Aston Villa has actually put in some good performances lately, but were somewhat unlucky to have come away losers. Their match against Manchester City was a good defensive showing, other than the massive mistake by Clarke to give the ball away leading to the only goal. If they can add some offense to that for the match against Reading then they should come out on top.

I am picking Aston Villa for this and I’m predicting a 2-1 win for them. Reading have not looked good enough in recent weeks and Villa have actually been looking better despite the bad run of results.

Reading (D, W, L, L, L)   1 – 2   Aston Villa (L, D, W, L, L)
